Robert DiRoma, Jr. was born and raised in Stamford, CT as the first of fraternal twins. Drawn to therapy and helping others from an early age, Robert attended New York University and obtained a Master's Degree in Social Work.

His extensive work in mental health and substance abuse facilities encouraged him to pursue the path of drug & alcohol addiction treatment and counseling, where he opened DiRomaTherapy in Darien, CT.

Now with 15 years of experience in drug & alcohol addiction treatment, Robert takes a holistic approach with his clients, seeing individuals and couples who struggle behind the scenes despite everything appearing to be "normal" on the outside. He emphasizes clear structure and direction, addressing underlying root issues that lead people down paths of addiction in order to ensure that changes hold outside of sessions and in the future.

He utilizes techniques in his practice including CBT, motivational interviewing, and dynamic therapy to create a holistic therapeutic alliance that facilitates healing.
